Welcome to Paisley People’s Archive
Paisley People’s Archive is a community based project which focuses on the social history of Paisley’s industrial heritage and related leisure activities. Consisting of digitally recorded oral history interviews, archival research, and old and new images, the Archive recreates Paisley’s history as remembered by its people.
The first phase of this unique collection focuses on the thread mills, with workers and managers revealing their personal stories of working life in the mills and what they got up to in their free time. If you have stories or images to share, please contact us and speak with one of our volunteer oral history interviewers.
The Archive is a work in progress and the website will be updated regularly. If you don’t see what you’re looking for this time, check again soon!
