Thread Mills, Reminiscence Event Paisley Peoples Archive

Reminiscence Event Paisley Peoples Archive

Paisley People's Archive holds a hugely successful Reminiscence Event!

Against a backdrop of historic images and beautiful new photographs by Donald John MacLean, Paisley People's Archive met with former mill employees in the former Gassing Mill, now the Sir James Clark Building. Whilst sharing mince pies and beverages, the mill workers shared memories of working and playing in and around the Anchor and Ferguslie mill sites, relating everyday stories, some sad, some outrageous, and some hilarious! Our film maker, Tim Mitchell, filmed a few short interviews for the project and volunteers guided our visitors to the photographic exhibition and refreshments. Most importantly - old friendships and acquaintances were renewed!

Enormous thanks to everyone who participated and made the event so memorable!
